The Spanish die and mould makers forming part of FEAMM, the Federation of Spanish Associations of Die and Mould Companies ( www.feamm.com), have elected Javier Antoñana of Irumold as their new president by unanimous vote.

The election took place during the assembly of the FEAMM which was recently held in Zaragoza. In attendance were representatives of the six regional associations of die and mould companies which comprise FEAMM. The organization represents nearly 300 companies in the sector.

Mr Antoñana, with long involvement in the organization of the die and mould sector, has been associated with FEAMM since it was formed. He has represented FEAMM in ISTMA (International Special Tooling and Machining Association) (www.istma.org), an organization of the national associations of die and mould companies of 31 countries. Mr Antoñana has sat on the board of directors of ISTMA in the past.

He was president of ISTMA-Europe from 2000-2004 and was recently named Businessperson of the Year in Navarra.

His expertise in the field and his position in the business community has enabled him to convey to Spanish and European officials the strategic importance of the die and mould sector to the development of high tech industries and to highlight to them the issues and concerns facing the sector. As president of FEAMM, Javier Antoñana will be able to continue this important work.

IRUMOLD exhibited at the triennial most important Fair of American Plastics Market, the New Plastics Edition. The participation was a success, and allowed us an important improvement in the commercial contact and relationships in the American Market. The Fair, placed in Chicago , was attended by the General Manager of IRUMOLD, Javier Antoñana and the Commercial Manager, Félix Galé.

IRUMOLD has achieved the OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY CERTIFICATE OHSAS 18001:1999. This certificate reduces the accidents and occupational ill health and improves performance which demonstrates the firm commitment of IRUMOLD with health and safety. In year 1996, the Quality Management Certificate ISO 9001:2000 was achieved. In 2004 the Environmental Management Certificate ISO 14001. This two certificates together with the OHSAS 18001:1999, make a unique management system certified by AENOR and IQNet. This demonstrates the innovative focus and vision of the future from IRUMOLD, which continues being a competitive, modern and leader company all around the world.

IRUMOLD was present at the  most important european Fair of  Molds , the Euromold. The participation was a success, allowing us an important improvement in our commercial contacts and relationship in  different markets. The Fair, placed in  Frankfurt, was attended by the General Manager of IRUMOLD, Javier Antoñana, the Commercial Manager, Félix Galé and the Commercial Technician, María Yoldi.

Mr Javier Antoñana, the Director of IRUMOLD, joined the last 9th of February in a meeting in the General Subbureau of Support to the  S mall and  M edium companies (PYMES) , belonging to the Industry, Tourism and Trade Ministry. The objective of the above mentioned meeting with the Chief Operating  O fficer of PYMES , Ms .  Maria Callejón, and the Subdirectors, Ms .  Mónica Vázquez and Ms .  Elena Moreno Fdez . de Heredia, was to make known the sector of Mold and Diemakers and to present an analysis of this sector made by FEAMM.

IRUMOLD has obtained the ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE ISO 14001.

In this way, IRUMOLD demonstrates the firm commitment to protect and preserve the environment, during the whole manufacturing process of the ultra high precision molds.
